Amazing Brownie Recipe!

Have nothing to do on a Friday night? How about stuffing your face with extremely amazing brownies? Well here's an amazing recipe for some fudgy brownies perfect for those forever alone nights. They are super easy to make and on take 15 minutes to prepare.

  • Ingredients:
  • 8 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 cups of plain flour
  • 3/4 cups of plain cooking chocolate
  • 3/4 cups of dark cooking chocolate
  • 1 1/4 cups of sugar
  • a pinch of baking power
  • small marshmallows ( optional )
  • 2 eggs
method:
  • Line a baking tin with some greaseproof paper and grease the paper and sides of the tin
  • Melt the butter and chocolate together on a low heat in a saucepan
  • Leave it to cool
  • Sift the flour and baking powder together in a bowl
  • In another bowl whisk together the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy
  • Add the melted chocolate mixture to the eggs and sugar and lightly mix together
  • Slowly fold in the flour and mix with a wooden spoon
  • add in the marshmallows for extra fudgyness
  • place in the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes
*sometimes the mixture tends to burn with the marshmallows, keep a close eye when it's in the oven. If it starts to burn cover with tinfoil.
*the brownies are cooked when a little bix of the mixture comes out on a knife or skewer, remember they'll be fudgy so mixture will come out on a knife.

enjoy!

Ever wish you had really glossy soft hair? Well now you can!

Sometimes our hair can be really really (and I mean really) unmanageable and it leads to bad hair days. We all love to hear about ways to keep our hair silky, smooth and manageable.. so I put a few tips together to help prevent those awful bad hair days and keep you hair in perfect condition!

1. Never tie your hair up when it's it.
We all know not to do this, but admit we still do! Try to avoid it as it will cause your hair to get damage with spilt ends as when it's wet it becomes fragile and the bobbin breaks the hair.  But if you really hate your hair in the way when it's wet, instead of using a bobbin try using a big clip to clip it up and avoid so much damage to your hair.

2. Let your hair dry naturally.
If you have the time, let it dry naturally. Using a hair dryer constantly damages your hair so much, it's dries it out taking away the moisture and shine and also causes those dreaded split ends. If you start to let it dry naturally you'll notice your hair will become more shiner and look like silk. I always let my hair dry naturally, I rarely use a hairdryer. If you must use a hair dryer, use the warm setting to avoid so much damage.

3. Use aragan oil if your hair is frizzy and dry.
Frizzy and dry hair can feel horrible, to restore some moisture and shine and get rid of the frizz treat you hair to a hot oil treatment. It will make a huge difference and your hair will thank you for it. If you don't want to fork out in the salon for it, buy some shampoo and conditioner that contains aragan oil. I recommend using the Tresseme brand. You can even buy some aragan oil in a spray and use it on damp hair. It smooths out the hair adding shine and getting rid of frizz.

4. Comb don't brush!
Brushing your hair when it's wet causes it to become brittle and look damaged. Instead, opt for using a wide toothed comb and gently comb the hair.

5. Another excuse to cut out the junk food!
Experts believe that dull, lifeless hair is linked to a bad diet. Load up on those fruit and veggies!

6. Avoid frequent washing.
Washing your hair too much will strip it of its natural oils making your hair dull and lifeless. Try using some dry shampoo instead and get another day out of your hair before washing it!

7. Buy for your hair type.
Just like your skin, your hair needs certain products to look its best. If you have curly hair, buy products suited for curly hair, if your hair is straight .. Buy products for straight hair and so on.

8. Stay natural.
If you want to keep you hair in really good condition, don't dye it! There's loads of reasons why: split ends, dry hair, looks coarse and rough .. I could go on and on ..!

9. Products.
Avoid using styling products that contain alcohol which will dry out your hair.

10. Water temp matters too.
Using hot water will cause dry scalp as it irritated the scalp, use warm water instead.

11. Hydrate and protect.
Using a leave in conditioner suited to your hair type will hydrate and protect it during the day keeping it shiny and frizz free. Leave in conditioner for hair is like moisturizer for the face!

12. Trim.
Trimming your hair will reduce split ends and keep the hair looking and feeling smooth and shiny!

My Best Pick Concealers!

Concealer is really one of those things that every girl has in her make-up bag. All in all, it's really a life saver! From covering up those horrible little spots to dark under eye circles, concealer does it! So I have put together some of the best concealers (not in order) I have used and the one's that you really should have! Also if you read to the end, there's a few things I have mentioned that concealer is great for that you might not have known about!

1. Maybelline New York: Light Coverage:
This concealer is perfect if you prefer to go more
natural and avoid a face full of foundation. It's
perfect for covering those slight imperfections
such as little pimples to slightly dark under eye
circles. It applies really well and smoothly and it's
perfect to carry in your bag for on the go!

2. Garnier tinted eye roll on:
Garnier concealer in really good and I tried it
for a while and I really liked it! It's sheer and
covers really well, and again if you tend to go
for a more natural look this is one of the concealers
you should consider buying. It's really light on the skin
too and doesn't feel heavy like most concealers.

3. Rimmer Wake Me Up:
I think this concealer is really good and lots
of people have reviewed it and found it really
good. This concealer really brightens up your
face and under your eyes combating that dark
circles look. It is easily blended and the light
shimmer really does add a glow to your face
making you look more awake and doing it's job.

4. Rimmel Match Perfection:
This concealer has also got brilliant reviews.
The application brush really allows it to be
applied easily but sometimes does require
you to blend it in with your fingers. It does
have really good coverage but it is a little bit
runny in texture. It's better used as a under eye
concealer than a concealer to cover spots but
it really is good and brightens your face!

5. L'Oréal Touche Magique:
This concealer also has really good
coverage. It's illuminating without the
shimmer or sparkle some concealers
have. It works great as a highlighter
and also if you want to contour your
face. The formula is thin and doesn't
feel cakey on the skin! I would
recommend it, but keep in mind
that there isn't a lot of concealer in it!

6. Catrice All Round Concealer:
This concealer is very like the Make Up Forever 5 concealer palette. This concealer from Catrice has 5 different shades perfect for every imperfection from dark under eye circles to redness! It's creamy                                                                                               texture gives full coverage and it really is a great                                                                                           concealer!

7. Erase Paste Benefit:
This erase paste from benefit is perfect
for covering under eye circles or for areas
you want to brighten. It has full coverage
and it's an easy to blend concealer with
light pink undertones. Its a great concealer
to brighten your face.

8. M.A.C Mineralize Concealer:
This concealer from M.A.C have a medium
coverage and illuminates the skin. It has a creamy
texture making it easy to apply and it's packed with
minerals for your skin. It's also great for covering
discoloration of the skin.

9. Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener:
I didn't buy this concealer but it was given to
me and I really loved it! You can wear it alone
just under the eyes and along the cheekbone
to give your face some colour or it's great for
under the eyes as it illuminates erasing the fatigue
look and making you look awake.

10. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer:
Again I was given this concealer over Christmas
as part of a present and I really love it and I'm using
it right now. It's really light and doesn't feel caked on
the skin at all. It gives light coverage and it's great for
a natural look, but you can build it up for medium - dark
coverage. It's so easy to apply and blends amazingly. The
best thing about it is it doesn't crease at all! It gets rid of
all those imperfections and it's my fave concealer I have
used so far!

*Hints&Tips:

  • Use some green tinted concealer and dab onto any red blemishes (green counteracts red), blend in and apply some powder on top!
  • Use a typically darker concealer for dark under eye circles
  • After applying foundation, use some yellow tinted concealer (try the catrice pallette) to cover up any uneven skin tones and blend in it really well
  • Use some concealer to make red rosy cheeks less noticable
  • Use some yellow based concealer to get rid of a red nose, by applying around the red areas and blend it in, use some foundation after to even it out!

Steal Her Style!

Hey girls (and maybe guys) sorry I haven't been posting lately! I've been really really busy this week and I had no time at all to post anything!

I can honestly say that Taylor Swift is my style icon! I love the way she dresses and I love her vintage style, and my wardbrobe is full of vintage style clothes! I found this picture of Taylor and I really love the sunglasses she is wearing and also her signature Oxford shoes which she nearly always is seen wearing! So I have found similar items to the clothes she is wearing for a fraction of the price, and as always I have included the link if you want to have a look!

1. Firstly her outfit here is really simple and perfect for summer weather when the time comes. She wears a simple plain white collared short sleeved blouse with a pocket. You can buy a similar blouse like this anywhere but I picked out one from forever 21 for only €7.35! I think the blouse is sold out at the moment but as I said you can easily buy a similar one from any shop!
2. The gorgeous mustard coloured shorts she is wearing really compliments the look and adds a pop of colour to the look. You can purchase these shorts here for €17 http://www.laredoute.com/girls-stretch-cotton-denim-shorts-with-belt/prod-324387104-729013.aspx
3. I found these oxford shoes online here http://www.amazon.com/Graben-Oxford-Athletic-Lightweight-Womens/dp/B00DJCBGR2/ for €14. If you don't have a pair of Oxford shoes, you need them. They are really on trend right now and will be perfect with a lace dress in summer! It's an investment!
4. I am so in love with the vintage Hollywood 50's inspired sunglasses Taylor is wearing! I am not a fan of leopard print at all but for these glasses I can make an exception as they accessorise the look perfectly and pull it together. These glasses can be found online here http://www.shopjeen.com/collections/sunglasses/products/old-hollywood-sunglasses or http://www.solesociety.com/smythe-tortoise.html
5. Another accessory that she is always seen with is a small satchel or similar type handbag! I found this bag online at http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Velvet-Quilted-Lock-Cross-Body-Bag/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3174197&r=2 but it is sold out right now but I found another perfect handbag here http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Satchel-Bag-With-Scallop-Flap-And-Metal-Tips/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3615439&r=2 and if you don't have a satchel you need one! It's a must have and to be honest I don't think they will ever go out of trend!
6. Finally pair this look off by sporting a red lip, and if you don't know which colour or shade suits you best I did a post before christmas about how to choose the correct shade of red lipstick. If you want to have a look click the link right here: http://allthingsteenblog.blogspot.ie/2013/12/how-to-choose-correct-shade-of-red.html
*quick tip: if you are going to wear a red lip make sure to choose a blush in the same shade or colour family if you want to look your best! Oh and keep the eye makeup to a minimum, try wearing a cat flick with this look to make it even more 50's inspired!

Steal Her Look

Taylor Swift's plaid skirt look for less
Taylor Swift channels a preppy schoolgirl with this classic plaid mini and tights. She steals the show with an unexpected pop of mustard yellow, with a pointed-toe and slight heel to keep them sophisticated. Carrying grocery bags never looked so cute! But we prefer her burgundy satchel for every day.
