How To Contour Your Face

Want to get defined cheekbones like Kim? All you have to do is learn how to contour your face properly using highlighter! The secret to it is to apply enough product so that your features are defined but there are no tell tale lines.

If you are new to contouring then you need to know the basics. When contouring, you are doing two different things. One is making park of the face recede from sight and the other is creating the illusion of bring parts of the face forward, making them more prominent.

1. Use a contouring product 2 shades darker than your skin tone, a stick foundation is perfect for this. Apply it right under your cheekbones in a downwards motion at an angle and on your temples.

2. If you want to create the illusion of a slimmer nose apply the contouring products along the sides of your nose and in the crease of the eye. If you use your hand to do this, the product will apply more easily.

3. Apply a highlighter next, (or even a lighter but noticeable foundation will do that is two shades lighter than your skin tone) to the bridge of your nose, above your upper lip, on your chin and above your cheekbones and along the jaw line. Be careful not to over highlight the cheekbones!

Blending:
1. Begin to blend the darkest part of your face first. Blend downwards from the cheekbones towards your chin and jawline. Then the temples and blend in a downwards motion on the nose.
2. If you want to lift your brow apply highlighter on the lid and along the brow bone. Then sparingly blend some of the darker contouring shade under your eyes to finish.
3. You can dust some blusher on for a small pop of colour to finish everything off!
